El Faro is situated on the coast, three miles from the little Spanish town of Vera which boasts a rich heritage, including 16th century buildings, a gothic church with the appearance of a fortress, a variety of restaurants, shops selling quality ceramics and crafts and the prestigious new golf course of Valle del Este.
The apartments are situated three hundred meters from a wide, uncrowded beach which is part of a 17 kilometer stretch of white sand. There is a small beach club with bar and restaurant but apart from this, the beach is completely undeveloped. In the peak season a number of marques spring up along the beach, housing additional bars and restaurants.
A short distance away is the little fishing port of Garrucha and the resort of Mojacar, where the mountains tumble down to the sea. Here will be found water sports, boat trips, dramatic coastal walks and a rich variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. A short distance inland is picturesque Mojacar Pueblo nestling in the foothills of the mountains.

Transport:
To get the full benefit of all that the area had to offer, we strongly recommend that you hire a car for all or part of your stay. It is possible, especially in the summer, to manage without one if the beach and coastal amenities are all you require. There is a bus service just outside the apartments that will take you all along the coast to Mojacar if you want a change from the local beach. It is possible to book excursions to places of interest like the Alhambra Palace.
